Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila’s (PLM) College of Science (CS) and University Research Center (URC) representatives paid a visit to the Colegio de San Juan de Letran campus to discuss a possible partnership between the two universities, Feb. 18.

CS Dean Aileen Atienza, Assoc. Dean Jennifer Sy, Biology Department Chair Samuel Brillo, URC Director Prof. Larry Padilla, and University Researcher Ms. Editha Medina viewed Letran’s laboratories and facilities.

Both parties expounded on a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that entails the usage of facilities, faculty exchange, and collaborative research. This project aims to amplify collaborative research, fast-track the CS facility expansion, and create sustainable NSTP projects on both campuses.

Prior to the return visit, Letran had already visited PLM to meet with the Vice President for Research, Academic, and Extension Services, Dr. Dan Michael Cortez, and other university officials.

Aside from collaborations with other schools, PLM also strengthens research in the university. The URC will be hosting a research seminar on Mar. 7, and Mar. 21, with the theme “Exploring the Role of AI in Academic Integrity & Research Excellence.”

The event aims to explore the responsible usage of AI in research and academic work and will be open for full-time faculty members.
