BAC students perform in student-led theatrical productions

Third-year Bachelor of Arts in Communication (BAC) students performed their theatrical productions in MULAT: Pistahan ng mga Dula at the Justo Albert Auditorium, Nov. 29.
MULAT showcased four stage plays depicting different themes of social realities, followed by an awarding ceremony to recognize the works of the students.
Cineliwasan’s “Ang Huling Ika-Labing Dalawang Gabi ni Manay Baby” was named as the Best Stage Play, while “Isang Daan” by Siglo Dos Production claimed the Best Production Design Award. “Unlucky Me!” by Ticnap Notnac Productions, on the other hand, bagged two of the major awards, the Best Production Award and Best Director Award for Baron Gonzales.
The Best Technical Production Award was divided into two: Best Technical Production in Lighting won by “Sisikat Ka, Annie” of Mignon Productions, and Best Technical Production in Music awarded to “Isang Daan” by Siglo Dos Production, which also won the Best Poster Award.
In the Performance Category, the cast of “Sisikat Ka, Annie,” claimed both the Best Actress Award for Gene Libunao and the Best Actor Award for Ivan Cuevas. Moreover, Ysabela Tamani of “Ang Huling Ika-Labing Dalawang Gabi ni Manay Baby” secured the Best Supporting Actress Award, and Xelbert Cuevas of “Unlucky Me!” for the Best Supporting Actor Award.
Introduction to Theater Arts adviser, Prof. Rolando Defeo Jr., expressed his pride in the students’ presentations during the closing remarks.
“It’s really an honor to guide the students… I’m proud of those plays na na-produce namin at na-produce ng lahat ng mga batang ito. Lahat ‘yon ay talento nila. Lahat ‘yon ay effort nila sa buong semestre na matatapos,” he said.
MULAT: Pistahan ng mga Dula was organized as part of the BAC 3rd year's Introduction to Theater Arts course.
