Ang Pamantasan (AP), the university’s official student publication, conducted its first-ever face-to-face staff onboarding for the newly-accepted members at the Gusaling Emilio Ejercito - Audio Visual Room, Nov. 9.
The said event convened the publication staff members to elaborate on AP-related affairs and by discussing its newly-revised Editorial Policies which include (but are not limited to) the publication’s Editorial Process and Standards ensuring the quality of contents and conduct of the publication.
New articles were also introduced that shall aid in promoting accountability internally among its members such as the Code of Ethics, Rights and Responsibilities of Student Journalists, Nonpartisanship in Journalistic Outputs and the like.
With this, memberships were called on for the newly-established Internal Affairs and Accountability Committee (IAAC), alongside the Financial Management Committee (FMC) within the publication staff. IAAC is an impartial and independent committee responsible for addressing complaints among the staff members of the student publication, while the FMC manages all financial transactions and procedures of the publication.
Previously, the student publication conducted its annual Ang Pamantasan Examination 2024 last Sept. 27-28 and has accepted 22 new staff members to help in promoting campus press freedom.
